Water Adventure

Yesterday (May 27th) Casey and I were out back helping the neighbor with a water issue. The irrigation water kept flooding the alley. I was letting George walk around and one minute he was sitting on the ground playing with some rocks and the next minute he was splashing in the water. This kid can move! and he's not even running yet. Oh boy mama is scared. It was a nice day so I let boys be boys and ran to get my camera while he played and daddy dug. He had a blast and naturally got in the way. These are a few of my favorite pictures ( I took 26) and a short video, it's not really good quality, but hey it was taken with my camera.

Birthday Fun For a Boy Turning One!

Well littleman turned one on May 20th and we celebrated with a BBQ on May 24th. The day turned out beautifully. All week the weather had been cold and rainy. Early in the day on Saturday Casey and I got up early to clear out the carport and assemble our new BBQ. We knew if the weather stayed bad, that is where the party would be held...or at least the cooking part. Around 11am the sky cleared and it began to warm up. By time people started showing up, it was a beautiful Spring day.

Here's Casey with his step-dad Roy
This is my MIL Margie with George. That's another one of her son's, Robert in the background

George getting his first taste of orange soda...yum!

Present time, amazingly he wasn't very interested in the whole ordeal.

He got some neat things....check the couch and legos. He also got tons of clothes, some of which will fit him next summer!

CAKE TIME!!!

I made 2 cakes and some cupcakes, all lemon with buttercream frosting. My decorating skills are minimal, but it was fun. My niece Lexie was excited because she got to put the candy pieces on the big cake and the spinkles on the cupcakes. I wanted to do a grasshopper head for the "smash" cake, but decided a silly face was easier and just as cute and edible.

Singing happy birthday

He just loved it!

Licking his hand

He got it all over the place, and actually managed to eat a little cake with his frosting

Yes she can sing

My sister - in - law and 2 other girls got the privledge of singing in front of their graduating class as part of the graduation ceremony. I thought it was very nice and all the girls are talented. Here's a video of the performance. Sorry the angle is wrong and you can't see their faces and that the idiots below me felt it necessary to talk though the song. She is the first one to sing, closest to the camera.

Birthday Exchange

About a month or so ago a few of my online mommy friends decided to do a gift exchange for all our little ones 1st birthdays. We opened the presents on May 14th. George got some very cute stuff from his exchange buddy.

Here is the menacing red package that has been screaming "open me" since we got it two weeks ago.
(Photo removed)

We opened the card first.

George got a new outfit. This is just to adorable, he tried it on yesterday, but I wasn't able to get a picture taken with him in it

George also got a new book for mommy to read to him and a Curious George stamp set. Now maybe mommy has a excuse to start on his scrap book.

Video Link for Boise's Susan G. Komen - Race for a Cure

I sure hope it works. Here's a link to the video from the race on Saturday that I participated in. I actually made it on screen as I crossed the finish line.

It's the first video on the right, just click in the middle of image and it will start playing. Can you find me? Hint: I'm somewhere around the 50-60 minute mark. My race number was 11666.

Pictures from today

It was a nice day so George and I took a stroll outside on the porch. He crawled back and forth all over the place.

He even thought to walk a bit.....

but needed help in order to get off the porch and down to the sidewalk and grass.

He's not to sure what to think of grass. He'll put his hand on it and then pull away. Perhaps it's to tough and pokey.

He's walking!!! I can hardly believe it. Little Man has been walking for a few weeks now and everyday he gets stonger and stronger. He can almost cross the entire living room before falling. Falling usually results from him going a little to fast or crossing one foot over the other and getting all tangled up. He takes his falls well and usually gets right back up. He doesn't need to pull up on anything to get to a stand, he just gets on his hands and feet (like a bear crawl) and then bends at the waist. He's such a ham and loves to try and chase the cats and dogs around the room. You can see them checking him out in the above picture. Here's a short video of him showing off his skills. It's not the best but he did take a few steps for the camera.
