Boise Hawks Vs. Keizer Volcano's
Hawks on the field
Volcano's on the fieldSo for as long as I have been working for my company we go on a couple firm outings a year. One is in the winter for dinner at a clients lodge and the other is at the end of summer. This is my favorite of the year as we go to a Boise Hawks Game. The Boise Hawks are a minor league team, you can see the results of the game here:
http://www.boisehawks.com/ It's the 8/7/08 game. Normally we eat at the game, a dinner that comes with our group tickets, but this year the firm opted to eat out at a restaurant before going to the game. Chinese buffett is always a crowd pleaser. Sorry no pictures from that event. Please do enjoy the few I remembered to take with my phone.

This was George's first game and he did extremely well given the heat, noise and cramped conditions. Our firm had two rows and every seat in the row was filled. At first the row in front of us was empty and George enjoyed just looking out at everything while the team

warmed up. He wasn't to pleased when a couple people sat down in front of us. I was able to setup a spot for him next to me in the one empty seat in our row until my bosses wife showed up. So he was forced to be either between my legs, in front of my legs or in my lap. He squirmed and squirmed and took a couple whacks (totally not on purpose) at the little girl in front of us, she wasn't pleased either.
We got a reprieve when one of my other bosses and her group decided they had had enough of trying to keep their kids under control and they left. We immediately moved over....ahhh space.

That was at the third inning. George was much happier and didn't make much of a fuss until somewhere near the 7th inning. We managed to go to almost the end of the 9th before George lost it. At this point Casey and I were also ready to leave and said our goodbyes as we packed our stuff and headed out. He was much happier on the move and passed out as soon as we got the truck on the road.

It was a good experience. Like I said George did well, given no 5:30 nap and no milk. We may have made it to the 12th inning and seen how the game turned out (Boise lost in extra innings) if I had some milk or even juice, the water was just not pleasing him. I'm glad we took him with us, Casey had wanted us to leave him with someone, but when we left town for Boise, everyone was still working and I also knew how late we would be out.
