Different and Same

Looking over past photos I see just how similar in appearance my son and daughter are.  As there mother I clearly see the differences from their eyes, hair and smile, yet to the untrained eye you may think they are the same person.  Sadly I haven't been as snap happy with my daughter as I was with my son so I don't have much of a chronicle of her age progression.  Here both are in the jumper.  One is 3 months and the other is 10 months.  I bet you can tell who's who....but they sure do look alike, no denying that.

Squeaks - Taken 9.23.11 - Age 10 months

Littleman - Taken 8.29.07 - Age 3 months

Other differences:

--Squeaks got her first tooth at 3 months, Littleman didn't get his until 9 months
--Littleman was crawling by 7 months and walking by 12 months, Squeaks on the other hand didn't start crawling until 9 months and has yet to attempt walking even by holding onto things - she will walk if we hold onto both of her hands, but only two or three steps.
--Squeaks is VERY clingy and very much a momma's girl.  Littleman has always been independent, I do not remember him going through the clingy phase and even today shows shyness for 1.3 secs and then he's off to make friends.  Happy to say squeaks does very well at daycare though and both children walk/crawl as fast as they can to get into my arms at the end of the day when I go to pick them up.
--Littleman is not much of an eater.  He loved food until he was about one and a half then he got picky, really picky.  Squeaks seems to love food even more than her brother, so I hope she doesn't go through to much of a picky phase.  I make a mean peanut butter and jelly sandwich if she does though.

Similarities:

--Both Squeaks and Littleman are well...little.  Neither of them were ever on the national curves for growth.  Literally their heights and weights were off the charts...way below them.  Once I found a good doctor, he looked at their individual curves and found them to be in perfect health and that "their weight does not match their physical appearance, they look perfect to me".  I'll never forget that. George is still shorter than most, but to me seems to match the other four year olds born around his month.  Squeaks is a little more on the petite side than her brother was.  One photo of him at 18 months blew my mind because he looked larger than I remember him.  I'll look back on photos of squeaks some day and probably think the same thing.

Music Lover

Squeaks really likes music I have come to realize.  Unlike her brother at this age, she loves having the headset on (turned WAY down).  She'll just sit and listen, staring at the computer screen if I have a video on.  Here she is enjoying some Pink Floyd.

Fishing Trip

Mann's Creek - July 15th - Number of Fish Caught: 20 - Those big enough to take home: 6
After tending to my dad's yard we went up and did a little fishing until the rain decided we needed to pack it up and go home.  Down on the creek, not the reservoir.
